Religious Education

  • CCD

This is the religious education program for our children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.

The program typically begins on Catechetical Sunday in September and runs through Palm Sunday in the Spring.

  • Youth Ministry

This ministry is a component of our religious education program for our youth in grades nine through twelve who attend public, private or Catholic high schools or who are homeschooled.

Catechetical (educational), prayer, service and social events are planned throughout the year in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Diocese of Youngstown. Events are planned on various days and times year round according to a set schedule.

  • Sacramental Preparation

First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are typically celebrated by our parish children who are in second

grade. Preparation takes place at several parent and child sessions. There is also retreat experience called Jesus Day for the children and their parents prior to First Holy Communion.

Confirmation is typically celebrated by our youth who are in the eighth or ninth grade. Preparation for this sacrament takes place every other year and Fall and includes sessions for candidates, parents and sponsors as well as a Retreat and opportunities for prayer, service and community building.

  • Adult Faith Formation

Opportunities with various topics, themes and formats will be offered during the year for adults to continue to grow in their knowledge of the faith.

  • Catechetical Ministry

Catechetical Ministers serve the Parish by helping to teach about and form others in our faith.

Catechists minister in our CCD and Sacramental Preparation Programs as well as our Focus on Faith Days and as part of our Order of Christian Initiation of Adults Team.

  • Focus on Faith Days

These events are gatherings when the entire parish can grow in knowledge of our faith together.

These events will typically include Mass, a meal, large group gathering for all ages and break out sessions with either age specific or topic specific content.
