Lectors serve as instruments of God's grace, becoming a channel through which God touches and changes all who hear his Word proclaimed.

The Word that you have the privilege of proclaiming is the Word of God that desperately needs to be heard and must be proclaimed well. It is an awesome responsibility and honor, and you will be inspired to work hard to help the Word of God come alive for the community.

Prerequisites:

• Attend training.
• Comfortable in public reading, knowledge of the principles of liturgy, and an understanding of the scriptures.
• Fully initiated, practicing Catholics whose lives witness to the Word which they proclaim.
• Arrive at the scheduled Mass at least fifteen minutes before the Mass start time
